History
This institution used to operate at Bongo, a village about 60 Kms from Huambo, the second largest city in Angola, as a seminary before the war in Angola broke out. During the war the entire campus was destroyed consisting of seminary buildings, a hospital and a secondary school was completely destroyed. When the war ended, realizing the need to train workers, especially ministers for the church, the leadership in Angola, then one union, decided to reopen the institution in Huambo city. Currently, Adventist University of Angola operates on a small campus in the city under an affiliation arrangement (extension campus) with/of Montemorelos University in Mexico since 2011.
The university currently only operates as a seminary and offers one program – BA in Theology. Unfortunately, as of September 2016 Seminario Adventista do Bongo has not received authorization from the Government of Angola, the initial application was made in 2006.  The Adventist University of Angola is operated by the two Angola unions – NEAU and SWAU has its current campus located at Rua Teixeira da Silva, Cidade Alta, in Huambo city.
